Licence & policies

Written to be read. Plain wording, and it means what it says.

Licence

Buying any Sipher Audio product gives you a permanent, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use it under the terms below. You are buying a licence to the sounds, not ownership of them.

What you may do

  • Use the presets, drums and project files in your own music, commercially, worldwide, forever.
  • Release on any platform (streaming, physical, sync, games, video) with no clearance and no royalty owed to us.
  • Edit, mangle, resample and rearrange anything in the products.
  • Install on every machine you personally own.
  • Keep using everything you have released if this licence ever ends.

What you may not do

  • Redistribute, resell, share or give away the files, in whole or in part.
  • Include the sounds in another sample pack, preset pack or sound library.
  • Release a project file as your own track without meaningfully changing it.
  • Upload the files anywhere others can download them.
  • Use the files to train a machine-learning model, or pass them to anyone who will.

The short version: sell the music you make with these, not the sounds themselves.

This licence is personal to you and can't be transferred or sub-licensed. Breaking the terms above ends it, though anything you have already released stays cleared.

Refunds

These are digital files delivered the moment you pay, so they can't be returned in the usual sense: once downloaded, you have them.

Your cancellation right, and why you waive it

Consumers in the UK and the EU normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. That right does not apply to digital content once delivery has started with your agreement. By completing checkout you ask us to deliver immediately and accept that you lose the 14-day cancellation right at that moment. If you would rather keep it, don't download the files. Email us within 14 days and we will refund you in full.

When we refund anyway

None of the above affects your statutory rights over faulty or misdescribed goods, and we don't hide behind it. Email sipheraudio@gmail.com and we will refund you if a product is broken or won't install, if it isn't what this site said it was, if you were charged twice, or if you bought the same thing twice by mistake. We'd rather do that than argue with a stranger about $39.

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, usually within five working days of us agreeing to one. The free starter presets exist so you can hear what you're buying before you buy it.

Privacy

Sipher Audio decides how your data is handled here and is responsible for it. Anything in this section, ask us at sipheraudio@gmail.com.

What we hold, and why

  • Your email address and what you bought. So we can send your files, send your receipt, and let you download again later. We need this to complete the sale you asked for. There is no way to opt out of it and still receive the product.
  • Whether you agreed to marketing, and when. Only if you tick the box. We keep the date and the exact wording you were shown, because that record is the only proof that your consent was real.
  • Your payment details. We never see them. Card numbers go straight to the payment processor and never touch this site.

Marketing is separate from your order

The box is never ticked for you, wherever you are, and ticking it is never a condition of buying. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe. Say no and you still get your files and your receipt. Those are part of the sale, not marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time and it takes effect immediately, without affecting anything sent before.

Who else touches it

Only the companies that make the shop work: the payment processor that takes your money, the email service that sends your download link, and the host that serves these pages. They act on our instructions and cannot use your details for anything of their own. Some are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there under the safeguards those services provide. Nobody else gets it. We do not sell your data, and there are no advertisers, data brokers or profiling tools involved.

What your browser stores

So the site can work without an account: what's in your cart, your last receipt, and the address you signed in with. The sign-in clears itself after 30 days, and “Sign out” on the downloads page clears all of it immediately. Worth doing on a studio machine other people use. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts on this site at all, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.

How long we keep it

Order records for as long as you can re-download, plus whatever the tax rules where we operate require. Marketing contacts until you unsubscribe, and then only the fact that you unsubscribed, so we don't email you again by accident.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, have us stop or restrict what we do with it, take it elsewhere in a portable format, object to a particular use, or withdraw consent. Email us and we will answer within 30 days, free. No decision here is made about you automatically. Deleting your address also ends your download access, so we will check you meant it before we do it. If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the data-protection authority where you live. But please tell us first, because we would rather fix it.

Terms

These terms cover sipheraudio.com and everything sold on it. Buying from Sipher Audio means you accept them and the licence above. You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

The sale

Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where we are required to charge it. A sale is complete when your payment clears and your files are made available; until then an order is an offer we can decline, which we would only do for an obvious pricing error or a payment we could not verify. If we get a price wrong we will tell you and refund you rather than quietly charge the higher amount.

Serum 2

Serum 2 is a product of Xfer Records and is not included, resold or bundled here. Sipher Audio is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Xfer Records. You need your own copy of Serum 2 for the presets and the project files to be of any use, and it is your job to check that before buying.

Availability and limits

Products are sold as they are. We keep downloads available indefinitely and intend to keep doing so, but we can't promise a specific link will exist forever, so keep a backup of anything you rely on. We don't promise the site will never be down.

If something goes wrong and it's our fault, what we owe you is capped at what you paid us for the product concerned. We are not liable for lost work, lost projects, lost income or anything else indirect. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and nothing here takes away consumer rights you have by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought is the one that applies to that purchase, and the date at the top of this page tells you when this version started.
